In order to protect the agriculture of the United States and to ensure a level playing field for businesses in the United States, Plants Without Borders is committed to ensuring that Buyers and Sellers on the Platform strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the United States as set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture, United States Customs and Border Protection, and all other relevant government agencies.
Out of an abundance of caution, Import Permits are required for all Buyers in the United States purchasing plants from Sellers located outside of the United States. Here is more information about how you can obtain your Import Permit.
Relevant duties will be listed on the Product page and are calculated based on the Country of Origin and the value of the goods. All Sellers must submit shipment documentation that matches the Commercial Invoice generated by each Order.
Phytosanitary Certificate Verification
To prevent the spread of invasive species that put agriculture in the United States at risk, all Sellers are required to submit a digital copy of the original Phytosanitary Certificate generated by the Plant Quarantine Office of the Exporting Country. Plants Without Borders will verify that the species listed on the Phytosanitary Certificate match the species in the associated Order.
